Subject: Internet addiction among students not good for their health
Sir:
I am writing to your good self to share my deep concern over the growing internet addiction among the students. The IT revolution has taken the world by storm. There is not a single aspect that has not been influenced by internet. The flood of smartphones and faster internet services at affordable rates have made smartphones and internet connections accessible to almost all. As a result, everybody has become addicted to internet.
However, addiction to internet has caused serious health problems. Prolonged use of mobile phones and computers connected with internet affects eye-sight, poor posture, spinal problem, etc. As one becomes addict to internet, one spends maximum time with it, compromising with outdoor activities such as exercise, walk, and sleep also. Prolonged sitting in front of computer leads to obesity. Apart from physical health bad effects, internet addiction causes isolation, tension, depression also.
Through the medium of your esteemed daily I appeal to the Government and people also to curb this internet addiction. The Government must make some policy to check this growing addiction; otherwise our country will be full of internet addicts. Kindly give my views enough space in your esteemed daily.
