Dear Sir/Madam,
Subject: Poor Drainage System
Through the esteemed columns of your newspaper "The Hindu", I would like to draw the attention of the relevant authorities about the poor drainage problems in our locality.
This blockage of drainage causes the problem of bad odour and leads to growth of mosquitoes which may lead to malaria. Small children playing outside the door have already affected by diarrhoea. Sometimes we feel vomiting and nausea.
We have already given many complaints to our local authority. They are always giving us empty promises and doing nothing. So kindly am requesting you to look into this matter personally. If you do the needful then i shall be very much thankful to you.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
Nandana B.

Respected Sir,
With utmost humility I a resident of Nayapalli Lane N4, Gandhi market( You can describe any area), wish to report you about a cleanliness hazard of our area. Sir, this area was once considered to be one if the paush areas, and now if you visit it, you will find stench and garbage spilling all over the road. This is because of the faulty drainage system that the area has. The water from the drain spills all over the road and in the rainy season it becomes impossible to even walk on it. The reason I am reporting this to your paper is that, our endless pleas to the municipality has always been treated with a deaf ear, and so almost everyone has stopped bothering and have adjusted to the scenario. Whereas I strongly believe that the power of media is such that, it can create a lot of difference in the society. So it is my earnest request to you to highlight this matter in your local edition, so that the local authorities do something about it.
Thanking you,
Santanu Mandal
