Subject: Problem of frequent holidays at schools
Dear Sir:
I am writing to your esteemed self to express my deep concern over the problem of frequent holidays at school and the ensuing loss of studies of children. The schools enjoy maximum number of holidays. Yet there is always demand for more holidays! The Government has prescribed 1200 hours per year for each subject. 200 hours are purely for planning. It means the teachers have only 1000 hours for each subject.
These guidelines exist only on papers. In actuality, there are far less learning hours available to students. In spite of the less number of learning hours, students as well as teachers always demand more holidays. How will the nation develop without learning?
Through the columns of your daily, I appeal to the education ministry to look into the matter and make strict laws against holidays.
Thanking you.
Yours truly,
Atma Ram
