The Editor,

Sir,

Subject: Rising prices of commodities

I am a regular reader of your newspaper and wish to use the columns of your esteemed daily to bring to the notice of the government the urgent need to check the rising prices of commodities.

Indian economy is going through a turbulent phase with inflation at an all-time high. The instability of the present government and its inability to control black marketing and hoarding have added to the problem. The price of essential goods is so high that the common man can not afford the basic amenities-food, shelter, clothing, medicine, etc. The government needs to reassess its policy of subsidy, tax and import-export to make certain basic goods reasonably priced. Hoarding, corruption and cheating have to be curtailed.

I hope that the concerned authorities will take appropriate steps to control the price rise of essential commodities.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Yours faithfully,

ABC
