Re: Communal disturbance
Dear sir,
I would be highly obliged if you kindly allow me a little space in your esteemed daily to ventilate my worries about the recent spurt in communal disturbances in our area.
India has all along won the respect of the world for its tolerance, communal harmony and unity in diversity. But it seems that sense of amity, fellow feelings, and good neighbourly attitude are missing at present. The sight of some one not belonging to my religion incites us. In my area there is a strong discrimination on the basis of cast, colour and creed. People look upon others of different religions as aliens and put them to all sorts of ignoble treatment. But this had not the case earlier and nor should we allow it to go on. These incidents of arsons, lynching, riots and looting of valuables and property of others who professed different faiths should be stopped. The need of the hour is good Samaritans.
I would request you to come out vehemently against this sectarian outlook in your editorial columns and appeal all concerned to give up biased, jaundiced and miopic vision and work together for universal brotherhood and good will.
yours truly,
