Subject: Issue of women safety in the city
Sir:
I am writing this letter to your worthy self to express my deep concern over the issue of women safety in Delhi. Problems of eve-teasing and chain snatching in our city. Girls, especially the college and school girls feel very insecure while commuting. Reckless and rowdy boys often indulge in eve-teasing. As a result the girls have to feel embarrassed. And in certain cases, chain-snatching incidents have also occurred.
The problem is everywhere; on roads, on buses, trains, auto-rickshaws. The girls don’t feel safe. In spite of 72 years after Independence, the plight of girls is really deplorable. There should be frequent patrolling of the police on roads near schools and colleges, especially in the morning and afternoon. The police cops should be deployed permanently, looking for eve-teasers.
People should also play an active role in making Delhi safe for girls and women. Any eve-teaser seen teasing any girl, people should come forward and snub him. I think if people resolve, this problem can be easily and efficiently dealt with. I appeal to people and authorities to look into the matter and do the needful.
