Subject : Regarding the problem of rash driving.
Dear Sir,
Through this letter , I want to draw my deep concerns & anguish about the rash driving. As the number of young drivers us increasing in the same way the number of rash drivers is also increasing. Rash driving leads to many deaths. The rash drivers , neither care about their lives , nor others on the roadside. In the search of immense joy , they ride the motorbike at the speed of two hundred plus kilometres which sometimes lead to a great imballance & directly affects their lives. Somewhere , it's the fault of the parents' too who provided them with luxurious motor bikes but forgot to tell them about how he/she should ride it. Government should take serious actions against these riders by making a great fine for overspending. Therefore , I request you to mention this issue in your daily to let the rash drivers aware about the strict actions now to be taken on their overspending giving them a knowledge of traffic rules.
Yours sincerely,

Subject: Reckless driving endangering precious human life.
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to draw the attention of the traffic authorities and the general public on the issue of increasing road accidents due reckless driving, especially young drivers, which causes accidents and results in injuries and lost of life.
There are clear traffic rules which prohibit overspeeding, driving on the wrong lane, parking in no parking zones, bikers without helmet, car drivers without driving license, driving without seat belts, driving under influence of intoxicants, etc and also we defined penalties for defaulters. Overspeeding and ignoring traffic lights are normal to them. They drive under the influence of alcohol. There are several hit and run cases everyday. Reckless drivers hit other vehicles or people walking on foot and fled the scene with the victims bleeding, screaming in pain and calling for help. Those whose driving exceed the speed limits must be given exemplary punishments. These reckless drivers give no regards for the rules and regulations of public roads. They are a menace and highly dangerous to public safety. Our traffic personnel must do their best to book them under relevant laws.
Maybe it is high time for us to review the existing penalties imposed upon people for rash driving. Imposing heavier penalties on offenders is the need of the hour to deter rash and reckless driving. Any rash driver involved in hit and run should be fined along with appropriate imprisonment time.
Our traffic control personnel must be increased. Both population and vehicle users are growing rapidly but the number of traffic police has not has more or less remained the same. It is also necessary to introduce road safety lessons in the text books of schools and colleges. Students must be taught the necessity of safe driving and learn to honour the sanctity of human life. Further, no driving license should be issued to anyone until they have passed from driving schools with satisfactory performance.
"Speed thrills but kills." Reckless and irresponsible driving endangers the life of the driver as well as other drivers and pedestrians. We must remember that it is better to drive safely then to regret later.
Yours sincerely,
Sapna
