Sir: I was not at all surprised to see that ducks and geese are dying of botulism in Hyde Park (report, 8 August). I go to St James's Park regularly and watch with horror as the lake changes colour, ending up as a slimy, greeny-brown soup which stinks in hot weather. People insist on feeding birds with their sandwiches, pieces of bread fall into the water and add to the slime soup, while pigeons and gulls attracted by the detritus add to the slime underfoot on the paths.

Is it beyond the capabilities of the Royal Park authorities to keep the lakes clean and dissuade people from feeding the birds?

Yours faithfully,

Sir,

Subject - Habitat under Threat.

Today sir , I wrote this letter to you to attract your attraction towards a growing problem in our country that is our and animal's habitat under Threat.

Sanjay Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary is a home to several animals . It is on the outskirts of Mumbai. As Mumbai is a big city it expands . Because of this there is a huge cut down of greenery to build buildings. That's why animals come closer in contact to humans which is not safe at all . As animal's habitat is getting destroyed they are constantly trying to enter in the city causing threat to humans. It creates panic and is unsafe . People should be discouraged from building houses here to stop this problem.

I hope you will mention this letter in ur esteemed newspaper.
Thanks

Yours Sincerely
Gaurav

Hope it helps ☺️
