I am healthy and happy here. I hope that you and all there are happy.
The independence day was celebrated at my school yesterday. Early in the morning we had our bath and sang Tagore’s songs. At 6.00 a.m. we assembled on the playground. The N.C.C. of our school gave a guard of honour to the inspector of schools who came to hoist the National Flag. He gave us an inspiring speech. Sweets were distributed. In the evening we enjoyed a variety entertainment offered by my school-mates. Prizes were given to the best performers.

Dear Ramu,
Hope this letter finds you in good health. As discussed earlier, I have given you a high-level insight into the independence day celebration at my school - St Joseph's. So, I'm writing this letter to provide a detailed insight about the same.
It is a very auspicious day for us, and for everyone in the country. We were asked to report early, around 8.00 am in the morning. The celebration started with a legacy parade by some of the selected students of our school and house captains. It was a great feeling doing that as I was also selected for the parade. After the grand parade, our principal Sir gave a speech for around 15 minutes stating the importance of the day and what should be our duties as responsible citizens. Having done that, we hosted the national flag and patriotic songs were played.
The function continued till 10.00 am and after that, we had mouth-watering sweets and snacks. I genuinely felt pride and a sense of happiness.
