dear your friend name,
Dear Alok,
In advance, I wish you a happy Holi. I also say this : Don't let Holi lose all its colours. You may wonder why I am saying this. Well, in today's 'Delhi Daily', there was an advertisement put in by the Delhi Police with the same slogan. The advertisement advised people to avoid doing certain things in order to make Holi 'safe'. I thought that their observations and suggestions were very valid and so I thought I would share the message with you.
During Holi, one thing we should definitely avoid is throwing water or rubber balloons containing water passers-by. Children enjoy doing this, but little do they realize how much harm they cause to themselves and to others. We should also refrain from forcing people who are unwilling to play Holi to join in the revelries. also in many places instead of colours, people use dirt and even chemicals instead of natural colours. This is disgusting and should be shunned completely.
You know that in certain localities, the youth get drunk and indulge in indecent language or riotous behaviour. They even use Holi as an excuse for eve-teasing and drunken-driving. They ride three-on-a-bike, without helmets and pose a danger not only to themselves, but also to others. The police have urged people not to indulge in or tolerate such behaviour. This is the first time that the police have put in such a advertisement and I commend them for it. I do hope that you and your friends will avoid such things in your locality and really make this an enjoyable and 'colourful' Holi.
