I received your letter today in which you have described how scared you are of staying alone in your hostel room due to the  stories you have heard recently about the ghosts that live in the hostel.

 let me assure you that what you have heard are mere stories; ghosts and spirits are figments of our imagination-the products of over-active minds! There is no scientific explanation or concrete proof of the existence of ghosts. These are stories people have circulated either for entertainment or for creating fear. The purpose is to meet some individual aim-strike fear in others to make them behave in a particular fashion or to have a good laugh at their expense. You ignore such rumours and concentrate on your studies and co-curricular activities. If you pay no attention to such rumours, they will have no effect on you. 

I am sure you will think and behave logically and rationally.
