My dear mother
I have joined the hostel and everything is comfortable here. I miss you and father very much. According to the new education policy, a ‘culture’ teacher has been appointed in our school. Apart from teaching, a visit to important places is included in the syllabus. A trip to Haridwar and Rishikesh in the end of this month has been organised by the Cultural Department. The expenditure will not be more than Rs. 2500 per head, as the school will contribute towards boarding and lodging.
Visiting Haridwar and Rishikesh was always in my dreams. Kindly give me permission to join the trip and send me the required amount for my expenditure. Please assure father that I will take proper care of myself.

Hope this letter finds everyone at home in the best of health and cheerful spirits. I am also doing quite fine here.
Dear Mom, our school has arranged an Educational Tour to Delhi and Agra during the coming holidays. It is expected to last a week and has great educational value. The total cost, including the train fare, boarding and lodging is estimated to be Rs. 1500/-. As all my friends will be joining this trip, I request your permission to avail myself of this rare opportunity. Hope you would be kind enough to give me your consent and remit the necessary amount as well. With kind regards to grandpa and grandma, dear Papa and love to Rinku and Renu.
