Dear Liza
How have you been doing? Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Was it very cold at that time of the year? I would love to hear about your celebrations in your next letter.
Do you remember me telling you about the harvest festival Pongal coming up? We had about a week leave for the festival. So, we went to my grandmother’s house in the village during this time. I had a really lovely time when I was there. My grandmother kept the Pongal for cooking in the back compound. It was really nice to see it boiling up in the mud pot. We had a lot of sugarcane too. Initially, I found it difficult to bite through but soon learnt the trick.
There was a village fair and my grandmother took me to it. It was such a colorful sight and even the exhibitions in city cannot compare with it. There were many stalls with interesting things to buy. Also, there were many food and game stalls. The fair was organized in a huge open ground. A magician performed in one corner of the ground. Each day he showed a new set of tricks. Out of the four days I was in the village, I went for three days to the fair. I also enjoyed playing a game of marbles with my neighbors.

I hope this letter finds you and your family in the best of health.
I am writing this letter to let you know about my Pongal. It was fun as always and we had a lot of friends visiting us at our place. We had a different variety of foods which we enjoyed eating. This Pongal was really good and different than the previous one.
I wish to have you with me on next Pongal, as everyone came except you.
We have been planning to throw a Pongal party at our home and I would like you and your family to be a part of it. I have invited all other friends as well with their families and I will feel happy to have you people be a part of this function at our home.
