Dear sister,

You have had my back since the day I opened my eyes to the world. From then on, you always looked out for me and protected me from this big bad world. I remember those days when mom used to dress us up in the same clothes ( seems so gross now!). How you hated it! And I, being the ever “loving” sissy, used to feel so proud to be dressed up like you. You were always my role model, my bodyguard and my personal diary. There is nothing that I have that you don’t know about (mostly because I can never wait to tell you all those gossips and secrets!).

Whenever I tread the wrong path unbeknownst, you always shove me back to the right path. You are my Google for every little adversity and query.

Sadly, nothing remains the same forever. We move on to different avenues. You have moved so far away from me ( I am extremely proud of your achievements though!), that I do not know how to spend this day without you physically by my side. You have taught me many a thing but not how to spend time without you. Today, Rakshabandhan feels so lonely without you. I miss the elaborate puja we have followed by the customary tying of the sacred thread. And not to forget the gift you get me every time!

Whichever part of the world we might be in, I know that you will always be by my side when I need you. Who says that a brother is the only one who can be a girl’s savior and superhero?

You are my superwoman, my hero and everything that a brother cannot be.

I love you didi!

your brother
