1. The interest of majority dominates the interest of  minority

2. Results are not satisfactory if the masses are  illiterate at large

3. slow economic growth and economic development

4. deliberations and debates cost lot of time, expenditure on the public wealth.

(2) It improves the quality of decision making.

Demerits of Democracy are :-

(1) Leaders keep changing in democracy. This leads to instability.
(2) Democracy is about political competition and power play.
(3) Elected leaders do not know the best interests of the people. It leads to bad decisions.
