seven people were injured and many vehicles damaged when majerhat bridge collapse. fortunately no one passing over and under it when it collapsed at around 5:15 pm . last evening. some people and passers by were injured and a few vehicles parked near it were damaged badly.
the injured ones were rushed to the hospital nearby and all of them have been reported out of danger. the PWD engineers have reached the site and analysed the situation and cause behind the collapse. The bridge was quite old and needed major reconstruction. Once again the recklessness of the government departments have come to the fore.
the CM of the state visited the hospital and announced compensation of rupees 50000/-
to those injured in the collapse along with free treatment at the hospital.
