soil is a part of earth's surface which is comprised of different rocks and humus that provides medium for plants Growth and development.

types of soil,,,

there are 6 types of soil.

(1) Sandy soil.

sandy soil are light, warm and tend to be acidic . they are low in nutrients. they are called light soil due to proportion of sand and little clay.

(2) Clay soil.

sandy soils are heavy soils . they are benefit from high nutrients . they remain wet and cold in winter and dry in summer. they contain 25℅ of clay. clay soils absorb high amount of water.

(3) Silt soil.

they are light and moisture soil with high fertility rating. they contain medium size particals . by adding organic matter they can be bound into more stable clumps.

(4) peat soil.

they are high in organic matters and retain a large amount of moisture . these soils are rarely found in garden and are usually imported into garden to provide optimum soil base for planting.

(5) Chalk soil.

they can be light or heavy but always highly alkaline due to presence of calcium carbonate or lime in its structure

(6) loam soil.

loam soils are mixture of sand , slit and clay. these are fertile soils and provide good drainage.
