When Countries or states or groups have dispute over a water resource is called Water Conflict. Unequal distribution of water is the main reason for Water Conflict.
In India water conflict is between
1) Karnataka and Tamilnadu over sharing of Cauvery water.
2) Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh over sharing of Krishna water.
3) Tamilnadu and Kerala over sharing of Siruveni water.
Some other reasons for water conflict are:
Hydroelectric power generation
Rivers are used for industrial purposes.
Drought:
When a country or state or area do not get enough rain like it used to have earlier, the lands become dry and becomes impossible for survival of plants, animals, and human.
India is facing serious droughts. 330 million people can be affected by shortage of water.
