As we know that plants reproduce by sexual reproduction or asexual reproduction. Flowers are the reproductive oragans of the plants . They produce seeds from which new plants arise. Before fertilization pollination takes place in plants with the help of flowers and other pollinators such as insects , birds , water , wind . Pollination is the transr of pollen grain from the anther to the stigma of the flower. It is of two types self pollination and cross pollination .

After that fertilization takes place.

After pollination the male gamete fuses with the female gamete within the ovule. This process of fusion of male and female gametes to give rise to zygote which develops into a new plant is called fertilization
