Interstate disparities in poverty is the proportion of people under poverty line in different states.For example percentage of peoples poor in Maharastra will not be the of Bihar,Odissa and Jharkhand.It is because Maharastra belong to most industrialize state of the country but the other three are less developed so the percentage of people living there under poverty is more and this kind of disparities is called interstate disparities

In 20 states and union territories, the poverty ratio is less than the national average. Poverty is still a serious problem in the states of Orissa, Bihar, Assam, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh.
