Explanation:

Khalji dynasty..

This article is about the Khalji dynasty centered in Delhi between 1290 and 1320. For the Khalji dynasty in Bengal between 1204 and 1227, see Khalji dynasty of Bengal.

"Khalji" redirects here. For the village in Iran, see Khalji, Iran. For the Pashtun tribe, see Ghalji.

The Khalji or Khilji[a] dynasty was a Muslim dynasty which ruled on the Delhi sultanate, covering large parts of the Indian subcontinent for nearly three decades between 1290 and 1320.[2][3][4] Founded by Jalal ud din Firuz Khalji as the second dynasty to rule the Delhi Sultanate of India, it came to power through a revolution that marked the transfer of power from the monopoly of Turkish nobles to a heterogeneous Indo-Mussalman nobility.[5] Its rule is known for conquests into present day South India[2] and successfully fending off the repeated Mongol invasions of India.[6][7]

The Khaljis were of Turkic descent who settled in Afghanistan region from Turkestan Central Asia:[8] before moving to India.[9] The ancestors of Jalaluddin Khalji had lived in the Helmand and Lamghan regions for over 200 years.[10].
