Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery or MEOR as it is known, is a technology which makes use of the function and structure of the microbial environment, found in oil reservoirs.

 

The main purpose of MEOR is to optimise oil recovery economically and thereby increase profits. Since MEOR allows only for partial recovery of oil, it increases the life of well-formed oil reservoirs.
