The Non-Cooperation Movement was a significant but short phase of the Indian independence movement from British rule. It was led by Mahatma Gandhi after the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and lasted from 1920 to February 1922. It aimed to resist British rule in India through non-violence .

The leaders of Khilafat agitation wished to initiate a non-coorperation movement against British. Gandhiji supported them and led a campaign against Jallianwala Bagh and Khilafat agitation.

The non-coorperation gained momentum through 1921-1922. British titles were surrendered and legislature boycotted. British imported products were burnt and the import fell drastically between 1920 and 1922.
