The angular momentum quantum number is 2, so each orbital has two angular nodes. There are 5 choices for the magnetic quantum number, which gives rise to 5 different d orbitals. Each orbital can hold two electrons (with opposite spins), giving the d orbitals atotal capacity of 10 electrons.

quantum number =>the set of 4 number required to define an electron completely in an atom and quantum number.
Quantum numbers are generally 4 types.
1st principal quantum number this is proposed by bohr it describes the size of electron wave and the total energy of the electron.
2nd azimuthal quantum number describe the shape of electron cloud and the number of subshells in a Cell it is proposed by sommerfield .
3rd magnetic quantum number it describe the orientation of Orbital with the respect of standard set of co-ordinate Axes it can have value from minus L2 plus cell including zero .
4th spin quantum number it describes the speed of electron with has value + 1 /2 and minus 1/2 .
number of orbitals in the d-subshell is 5
