The most significant character in rabindranath tagor's short story is abdur rahmat, the kabuliwala.kabuliwala seems to be a merelya dry-fruit seller peddling in the streets of kolkata.underneath a peddler there is a great emotional being who loves his daughter so much that when he sees mini,he immediately see his own daughter in her.
He was hardworking, diligent, a good friend to mini. He was also patient as he showed patience while listening to mini.He was poor,a loving and caring man.
