- It is used as source of food for livestock (cattles).
Microorganisms used as single-cell protein include -
- yeast (Candida, Saccharomyces)
- bacteria (Rhodobacter capsulatus)
- fungi (trichoderma, fusarium)
- algae (chlorella, spirulina)
