Elections are important for all types of governments, especially in democracy.
The importance of elections are mentioned below:―
1. Every individual cannot be elected in the parliament so to cut short among the candidates elections are a must.

2. If the existing government fail to perform it's responsibilities then in the upcoming elections the common people can throw them out of the office and choose a new government.

3. The present government tries to work for the welfare of the common mass because they know that they will be removed if they do not work for the country's welfare. Hence, it the fear of upcoming elections which makes the government work well.
