Answer:

The Governor should have the following qualifications to be appointed in Office:

(i) He should be an Indian citizen. He cannot be a Non-Resident Indian(NRI).

(ii) He should have a minimum age of 35 years.

(iii) He should not be a Government official or hold any office of profit

(iv) He should not be a member of the Parliament or the State Legislature.

The tenure of the Governor is 5 years but he can hold office until a new Governor is appointed. The President can dismiss the Governor before the completion of 5 years if advised by the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers. The Governor can also resign before his term of office is over.
