The Indian National Congress tried including the Dalits into the nationalistic movement to increase their army in order to drive out the Britishers from India.

The Dalits have been mistreated and oppressed by the very country and people they called home. This gave them the opportunity to ask for equal rights and raise their voice against all the injustices done to them. They were led by Dr Ambedhkar.
