The second Anglo mysore war between the British and Hyder has fierce. The outcome of this war was the Treaty of Mangalore. This treaty was signed by both the parties to even out and return their respective lost land areas

.Following reasons led  to the British interest over Mysore and the ensuing wars:
Mysore was growing in strength under Haider Ali mysore was an important centre which managed the profitable trade of the Malabar coast tipu Sultan had restricted the export of sandalwood, pepper and cardamom from his kingdom local merchants were not allowed to trade with the company tipu Sultan wa taking the aid of the French to train his army......

When the Maratha attacked Mysore in 1771, the british did not come forward to help Haider Ali, in spite of the defensive alliance of 1769. This infuriated Haider Ali. In 1776, the British seized Mahe, a seaport on the western coast. It was a french settlement undef Haider Ali from where he recently military supplies from other countries. Haider Ali understood the true intention of the British. He Attacked Carnatic with a huge army and captured Arcot. But, before the war came to end, he fell ill and passed... Way.... In 1782. His son Tipu sultan continued the war with the help of the French troops Finally, The treaty of Mangalore was signed between the arch-rivals in 1784. According to this treaty, the two parties exchanged their territories and prisoners of war.......
