French Revolution took place because of mainly four reasons 1. Extravagant life of Louis XVI with Mary Antoinette. 2. Long Years of Wars.3. 13 American Colonies. 4. Extravagant court of king's palace of Versailles

French revolution took place because:-

1. Population of france rose from about 23 million in 1715 to 28 million in 1789.

2. This lead to a rapid increase in the demand for foodgrains. But production could not keep pace with the demand.

3. Price of bread rose.

4. Labourers wages were fixed but these wages did not keep pace with the rise in the prices. So the gap between the rich and the poor widened.

5. Drought or hail reduced the harvest.

6. This all lead to subsitence crisis.

7. France was divided into three estates, namely:- clergy, nobility and the third estate of common people. The third estate had to pay al the taxes and the first two estates enjoyed feudal privileges.

8. The people of third estate mainly the poor ones didn't had the right to vote. So they struggled for the right to vote.

9. French revolution also occured so as to abolish monarchy and to establish democracy.
