The tribes of Jharkhand are Oraon, Munda, Ho, Birhor, and Santhal.

Explanation:

  • A large number of indigenous people live in India, which are still untouched by modern-day lifestyles. The issue now is who the tribes are or which tribal group they belong to. In 1960, in order to include a case or culture in tribal group, Chanda Committee ascertained 5 standards to include any community or caste in the tribal group. Geographic isolation, particular culture, tribe characteristics, backwardness and shyness are among those standards. In India, 461 tribal groups are called the Schedule Tribes, of which 424 are numbered.

The social movement for Jharkhand had a charismatic leader as Birsa Munda, an Adivasi who led a major uprising against the British after his death. Literate Adivasis began to research and write about their history and myths. They documented and disseminated information about tribal customs and cultural practices.
