Kolkata happens to be the city of joy and it possesses rich Bengali culture that makes the place a city with great heritage and historical values. It is one of the major tourist attractions.

Recently, the city is facing a serious problem and needs public attention and awareness. The garbage is not properly disposed of that is making the city polluted and decreasing the beauty that the city carries.

Garbage are been dumped at any possible locality whereas dedicated bins are allocated to dispose of the same. People are irresponsibly making the city dirty. Lakes and water bodies are almost polluted that is making the water unsafe for usage. The aquatic ecosystem is troubled by the pollutants that are leading to the serious extinction of fish. Contaminated water that is highly unsafe for usage is increasing water pollution.

There should be legal steps initiated and executed to stop littering the city. Garbage should be disposed of following the proper guidelines, based on the type of garbage. Biodegradable wastes are a valuable source of manufacturing manures, compost, and bio-gas. Non-biodegradable waste can be very harmful to the soil and environment and should be disposed of strictly by maintaining the proper techniques.

This is the responsibility of the citizens to make this city beautiful and we should act accordingly. This is our homeland and we are entrusted with some duties to uphold the virtue of this city and enhance it in the upcoming days.
