last week I attended the wedding of my cousin.There was an atmosphere of gaiety and glamour. Preparations for the marriage had been going on for a number of days... There had been various functions and rituals. Two days before the wedding 'Tilak ceremony' was held.The brides party had came to our house and gave clothes. In the evening there was the ladies 'sangeet' Girls and women's sang songs and danced together. The next day we had a 'cocktail party' Then the next day was of''Wedding day''. that day we all had dressed In our best attires. The marriage procession started at 4:00pm. The bridegroom was riding a decorated mare. Band was playing in the tunes of Bollywood hit romantic songs...
The party reached the bride's house at around 7:00pm o' clock. Then there was the garlanding ceremony. The groom and the bride both changed their garlands. and it was followed by photographs session. we were having a delicious dinner .
Then the marriage was solemnized among the recitation of vedic mantras and other rituals..
