We all are aware that a joint family includes our father, mother, brother, sister , granpa, grandma...etc. A joint family consists of many generations living together in the same home. A joint family is also called an undivided family. But in today's world it is possible in India only. A joint family is recognised as a social institution from time immemorial. The beauty about Indian culture lies in its age long prevailing tradition of joint family. A joint family is much more bigger than a nuclear family. In a joint family everyone is loved by each other or in a joint family the bonding is much stronger than a nuclear family. Interdependence on each other in large families seems to have been replaced by independent living or self sufficient attitude. Anyone who is living in a joint family in today's world is the most blessed person......!!!!!

A family unit which consist of  all the family members up to 2nd generation like grand parents, parents, uncle, aunts and their children living under one roof is called a joint family . The importance of joint family is mainly understood by the Indians since time immemorial. During this era where  young people are going advanced with their lifestyles and are more interested in mini family ,they are missing a lot of fun, caring, elderly guidance etc in their life which can causes a  lot of problems in the future like loneliness, frustrations etc. In a joint family  all the expenses, works and other things are shared equally with the other members of the family, so that  the burden of work won't be felt by a single person. All the children's will get equal share of love, care and guidance from their grandparents which inevitably will help them to pace their life smoothly in future compared to the modern generation of youth's who are mostly alone during their childhood. Similarly in a joint family emotions and problems can be shared and solved much easily , and as reason suicides , depressions and other stress issues  are very rare in a joint family when compared to the modern mini families where emotions and problems are are more suppressed  rather than shared. and as a reason it can be said that joint family clearly proves what the old quote says "unity is strength and division is weakness " .
