In order to become a developed country, India must first control its population. This can be done by lowering the birthrate. Incentives should be given to couples for raising single child families. Once this objective is met over a period of time, the cancer of poverty should be removed. At the same time, the Government should set up better healthcare and education facilities. It must ensure that the rights to remunerative jobs and proper housing become fundamental rights. If all of these are done, India can march ahead along with the other developing countries of the world.
