Ranjit Singh was born on November 13, 1780 at Gujranwala. Sardar Mahan Singh was his father. He was the only son of his parents. He was the chief of the Sukerchakiya Misal. When he was five years old, he was sent for receiving education to the Dharamshala of Bhai Bhagu Singh at Gujranwala. But he showed no interest in studies. In his childhood, he had become a good swordsman and a horseman. He had been the victim of smallpox in his childhood. Thus, due to this terrible disease, he had lost his left eye. He had all qualities of brave warrior. He was just 10 years old, when he began to fight in the battles along with his father and fought bravely. Ranjit Singh conquered territories of Lahore, Amritsar, Sialkot and Jalandhar. He conquered Faizalpuria Misl, Krorsinghia Misl, Nikai Misal, and Kanhaiya Misl. He conquered Kashmir in 1819A.D. He died on June 27, 1839.
