Answer :The reason why Republic Day is of great importance is that, it was on this day Democracy entered India. Republic Day celebrates the day on which our Indian Constitution came into effect. A Constitution constitutes of a list of fundamental laws upon which a nation is to be governed.
Even after the Independence of India on August 15, 1947, we were still a Dominion of the British Empire, which meant, we were an Autonomous British Colony, who could govern ourselves independently but under a Constitutional Monarchy. Dr. Ambedkar with an assembly of 308 members worked for close to three years to draft our Constitution. The final copy was signed on 24th January, 1950. A couple of days later on January 26 our Constitution came into effect, completely dethroning the British monarchy of India. It was on this day we truly became an independent republic with a democratic government. To put it in layman terms, this was the day we started to govern ourselves by our own rules.

January 26 is celebrated as the republic day in our college. on this every student came to the college in the uniform . all the students were in the college at about 7 a.m. first of all assemble in the college hall. then call Bell rent . we were asked to go to the prayer ground for the flag hosting ceremony. the principal hosted the national flag . after the flag hosting ceremony ,our vice principal Shri Raj Singh read the message. we were asked to work have for the progress of the country . our physical institute Shri R.K Singh asked us to be ready for parade . all the students obeys his order. we did our best . everybody like the so very much . then the games started . the Students took keen interest in them. everybody like the peon race . in the end of our principal made short speech .he told us the importance of the day .we appreciate about discipline. he advise us to work hard for the good of the country . at about 10a.m. the function of was over. so we return home joyfully.
