Answer:
Who is the most admiring person in your life?
Thanks for the A2A, Ankur!
I admire my father the most in life. You might ask what extraordinary qualities he had that made you admire him. No, he was not extraordinary, at least not in the conventional sense. He was not highly intelligent or wealthy or powerful or handsome. He was an ordinary man with simple habits. But, for me, he stood out as an exceptionally good human being. He, through his example, gave us the best lesson that being a good human is valuable more than anything else. And, through experience I learnt that being a good human being is not only valuable but also adds value to life.
My father always felt proud of his five daughters, even when, people pitied him for having only daughters and no son.
He taught us to be respectful to all, be it a rich or poor people such as domestic help, watchmen, sweeper, milkman etc. He always enquired well being of our domestic servant, building watchmen and his office boy, and their families. In fact, quite a few people find it odd when I greet securities or house keeping staff, but I feel good about it.
He taught us that being kind, compassionate and caring towards others is a duty of every human being and to never fail in this duty.
He was very adaptable and tolerant to people, even when they were not good to him. I never heard him talk bad or ill about others even those who harmed him in some or the other way. I am adaptable, but certainly not tolerant to people who harm me. But, it requires lot of strength to be tolerant and due to this in-born strength he was always at peace. He never brought any problems at his workplace to home.
I never saw or heard him craving for money, he was kind of content with all that he had. Having said this, it does not mean that he didn't work hard to uplift himself. He did work hard, earned money in exchange of work, but never ever compromised on his values to rise in life. I happily follow this legacy of my father.
Well, my father is no more, but his memories continue to live through the legacy that he left behind in his daughters.
