Our teacher Mrs.Basu retired from our school yesterday.As she was one of our most favorite teachers,we decided to throw a farewell party for her at the school.
Her retirement was a watershed event for us.Sh was a no-nonsense teacher.She taught us the joy of learning, helped shape our careers and our success.She always advised naughty students and advice crushed their fragile egos with her heartfelt advice.So,we wanted to make this day a memorable one for her.
We had informed the Principal and other teachers about this development a day before.Before she arrived in the class,we all decorated it beautifully with balloons and buntings.We had also ordered a chocolate cake for her.There was an elaborate sumptuous arrangement of sweets and goodies.We had collected some money and bought a large portrait with photos of her along with some of her past students.We had invited the Principal,school teachers,her past students and old colleagues who had already retired.
When she entered the room,we all surprised her.Then we gave her the gift that we had bought and requested her to cut the cake.She was overjoyed.Some excellent orators of our class gave speech about her struggles and achievements which bought her to tears.A teary eyed Mrs.Basu hugged us and thanked for overwhelming response for her farewell.
