Reactivity of metals is directly proportional to the oxidation potentials of the metals that is their ability to reduce other metals. The metals which have high oxidation potentials are more reactive and displace metals with low oxidation potentials from their salts. This concept is used in galvanizing in electroplating and can be elaborated by the help of electrochemical series.
