The reactivity of a metal directly depends on its oxidation potential. A more reactive metal will have comparatively high oxidation potential. Only a more reactive metal can displace a less reactive metal from its salt. In galvanizing and electroplating, layer is deposited by keeping in view this concept. It can be explained further with the help of the electrochemical series.
