NDRF team did yet another rescue operation I the flooded Maharashtra by evacuating 1050 passengers from the stranded Mahalxmi Express on July 28, 2019.
The incessant, torrential rains had flooded Ulhas River that led to the flooding of the railway tracks. The train was stuck between Badlapur and Vangani in Maharashtra, which is 100 kilometers away from Mumbai.
Approximately 300 personnel from NDRF, Navy, Coast Guard and fire brigade took part in the rescue operations.
Stranded passengers heaved a sigh of relief after being rescued; they remained stuck in the train for more than 15 hours. The NDRF team had to use boats to reach the train.
The entire nation lauded the courageous efforts of the NDRF team and many other volunteers who had worked so hard to reach to the panicked people.
