Department of Electronics and Telecommunication organized Faculty Development Workshop on “Personality Development” (for Non-Teaching Staff Members) during 25th to 29 th November 2013. The objective of this workshop was to improve soft-skills including verbal and written communication skills, stage courage, and presentation skills as the parts of personality of all the non-teaching faculty members.
The course structure was designed by discussion with professional expert in soft skills training Mr. Ashish Joshi and his colleague Ms. Manpreet Kaur, keeping in consideration of short duration and available resources.
It was rightly initiated and encouraged by Dr. Y. Ravinder, HOED, PICT Pune, with his motivational speech at the inauguration of the program, where he shared why an individual needs good personality, how a good personality will help a non-teaching staff member in his professional life. Succeeding to him, Mr. Ashish Joshi, Director, SkillSmartWorld shared his views regarding importance of good communication skills. Later sessions have been started as per predesigned course structure.
Wide publicity was given by sending emails and SMS to all non teaching faculty members of PICT Pune. Many participants have shown interest in workshop and 33 staff members have registered for the workshop.
The workshop was conducted in a systematized manner as:
There were total of 15 contact hrs of training (5 days x 3 hrs daily) conducted. The main contents of the course have been divided as follows:
