"A step towards humanity"

On 24th May 2020, the NSS unit of St Jones' Collegiate organised a visit to the nearby orphanage to donate essentials, mainly books for the improvement of educational opportunities for these children. They also conducted classes for the children and distributed food afterwards. The campaign was to promote charity and humanitarian activities among the current generation.
The children were delighted to see so many new faces who came to spend time and enjoy their company. The caretaker explained to us the varied backgrounds from which these unfortunate children had come from. Hearing their stories it was almost hard to believe how beautifully they could smile despite their hardships. The NSS team reported the event to be a great success since immediately after their visit, the local government issues funds for every orphanage in the state.
We hope that all individuals should take every possible opportunity to make this world a better place for the lesser privileged people.
