KOTA: Light to moderate rainfall accompanied with heavy hailstorm on Wednesday late evening lashed parts of Hadauti region, causing around 100 percent crop damage in villages of Bundi tehsil and about 50-60 percent damage to crops in other parts of Bundi, Baran and Jhalawar districts, while washing away the dreams of hundreds of farmers of reaping a good yield.
Opium crop in Chipabarode and Harnawdashahaji areas of Baran district were considerably damaged due to rain and hailstorm on Wednesday night. The district administration has directed the tehsildars of the respective areas to carry out crop-damage assessment and to submit the report at the earliest.

“A hardly 20-25 minute rainfall along with heavy hailstorm washed away all our dreams of getting a good yield and now, we are on the edge of committing suicide, if a fair compensation for the crop damage is not granted,” said Rameshwar Tripathi of Jhawaharnagar village and claimed the entire wheat crop in his 80 bighas of field is totally damaged
