Answer:

The question is asked from the story The Hundred Dresses which is written by the story writer Eleanor Estes.

In this story, after Wanda move to the new city. It is far more different from living in Boggin Heights. Children does not tease her there. Even two of her classmates share her surnames as well.

During holiday, Wanda wants to return to her old home and be friends with Maddie and Peggy. She learnt from the letter that Maddie and Peggy are so sorry about her.

Explanation:

Wanda sorely missed Boggin Heights. She had a much better lifestyle in this new city and was even looking forward to the change. But alas, a few days into staying in the new city and the novelty has worn off. Wanda wished she could go back to her old school.

Although, while she was there, she felt sad sometimes that her classmates teased her. But now on hindsight she felt, she missed her old classmates and teachers a lot. She missed Maddie and Peggy.

This city was a novelty for her with big buildings and a nice place to stay. But it did not match the surroundings of the countryside in Boggin Heights. Missing her friends badly she drew Maddie and Peggy and sent them a greeting card enquiring about them.
