Bakelite is a polymer and formaldehydrate copolymer..it is used in floor tiles,white board,etc.
melamine is a organic compound. when this compound combine with formaldehyte and creates thermosetting material.

Both material are thermostat rather than thermoplastic materials. A thermoplastic can be heated with limits and it becomes softer. Its viscosity drops .When it is allowed to cool it becomes solid again . This can be repeated heating and cooling does have a degrading effect
Melamine is the organic compound with the formula C3H6N6.
when combined with formaldehyde creates a thermostat material of the same name.
