The fight for Indian independence is a significant development in Indian history. The freedom fighters were men who selflessly gave their lives for their country's independence.

  • In the year 1600 the British invaded India with the intention of trading products like tea, silk, and cotton and gradually began to rule the land. and slowly began to create chaos which made people their slaves.
  • India went through some of the most difficult times to gain independence from British rule and in 1857 the first movement against the British was initiated.
  • In 1920, under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, the Non-Cooperation Movement was launched to awaken in the Indian Independence Movement.
  • Many freedom fighters such as Bhagat Singh, Rajuguru, Chandra Shekhar Azad sacrificed their lives for the attainment of freedom.
  • Also, the Indian National Army was formed in the year 1943 to impel British from India.
  • The British soon agreed on an agreement and decided to pull out of India, which eventually came into effect on August 15, 1947 and independence was obtained.
