            Science is good servant but bad master


Undoubtedly, science is a good servant but bad master. As long as man uses science wisely he can use it to solve almost all the problems. However, if he uses it unwisely for parochial purposes, it may cause lots of destruction.


Science, like fire can either cook man’s food or cook the man himself. Nothing is harmful until it is used with harmful intentions. Similarly Science in itself is not disastrous. It is the ill and inhumane use that makes it so.


For example, our planet earth has so much of Uranium, Thorium, Plutonium, etc. that if used optimally, abundant power can be generated for all the people living in all the countries of the planet. The sad thing is man’s focus is on creating deadly nuclear weapons out of these wonderful resources given to him by beneficent Nature. Using the above mentioned substances for the welfare is using science wisely; however, making weapons of mass destruction is using it unwisely.


Science can only be used as servant with wisdom. Using science for greed, selfishness, and parochial purposes will make man slave of science which may destroy the entire planet.
